David Flynn, Business StrategistDavid Flynn, considered one of the pioneers in the U.S. Hispanic advertising and marketing business, brings everything to the table in his work including many years of experience with blue chip brands as well as a lifelong love affair with Latin America where he was born, raised, and educated.

His degrees in Latin American Studies and History have played a big part in his approach to marketing opportunities in the region with a background in research, analysis, cultural knowledge, and language fluency.  He also holds a Master’s degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

 

Experience

David started in New York City with multi-million dollar brand advertising responsibilities for large International packaged goods companies seeking growth in new markets. Among these were the Colgate-Palmolive family of brands, Bristol-Myers, No-Nonsense.  He was later recruited to head up the Hispanic Media department as Vice President for GSD&M Advertising in Austin, Texas.  While there, his efforts brought companies like Wal-Mart and Domino’s Pizza into the Hispanic market and Spanish-language media for the first time.  He also directed and oversaw execution of strategies in Mexico for the State of Texas Dept. of Tourism, Wal-Mart, La Quinta Inns, Chili’s Grill and Bar and Sea World.  Other blue chip assignments included planning for several Coors Brewing Company brands such as Coors Light, Coors, and Zima as well as work for Pennzoil.

A risk taker, David started his own strategic planning media agency in Austin, Texas managing a portfolio of accounts, both domestic and international, including Tecate Beer, U.S. Army, JC Penney, DreamWorks, Jarritos, Aldi Stores, Fannie Mae, and the Texas Lottery. Quickly growing to $50 million in billings, David’s agency, Amistad Media Group, became the largest company of its type in the US. After 11 years, he closed the agency and rolled up his sleeves to work as Marketing Director for Novamex, a Mexican company based in the U.S. where he managed a portfolio of Mexican beverage brands including Jarritos, Sidral Mundet, and Sangria Señorial.
